WOOSTER PLAYERS REALIZE DREAM
OF NEW THEATRE CHAIRS
High school students in love with theater know how to dream big. At Wooster High School, young thespians’ hopes for new theater chairs have become a reality. Wooster opened its doors in 1962, and finally Wooster Players have brand new comfortably cushioned chairs.
The Wooster Little Theatre has officially been re-named The Hart Theatre in honor of the $40,000 contribution from the Thelma B. and Thomas P. Hart Foundation. The foundation’s donation made it possible for the Sweet CHAIR-ity Campaign to wrap up this year. Nearly $90,000 was raised since the campaign began in February 2009.
“We want to express our sincere appreciation to the Hart Foundation and all of our donors, large and small,” said Kimberly Gibbons, Wooster theatre arts teacher. “Due to their extremely generous gifts and commitment to us, new theatre chairs are now not just a dream, but a reality and now we have a professional theatre not just an auditorium.”
Gibbons is not finished with renovating the theatre. She has already begun investigating her next project – curtains. Early estimates for that project is around $20,000.
